“Cultivate” -A Grace Filled Guide to Living An Intentional Life- Review

I recently had the absolute pleasure to be on the launch team for Lara Casey’s newest book, “Cultivate”-A Grace Filled Guide to Living an Intentional Life. I was so blessed by her writing and inspirational message. I loved it!!

Lara’s book is a grace-filled and inspirational guide on living an intentional life, minus the perfection. The author shares her own life stories and biblical verses in a beautifully honest, humble, authentic, and heartfelt way. She takes you on her journey of seeking and finding God’s grace in the ups and downs, the messiness, in the seasons of her life. The book is laid out with thought-provoking and soul-searching questions for the reader to ask themselves, to help them see into their own life journey.

“Cultivate” is written with wisdom and faith-filled words that speak to your soul. Lara uses journal prompts and reflection questions to help the reader implement all the steps into their lives. I love how Lara uses gardening terms and examples of her own gardening evolution to impart her wonderful message. “Cultivate” is rich with inspirational and spiritual nourishment for our hungry souls. I loved the actionable steps Lara shares to dive deeper into her message of embracing the messiness of our lives and being renewed in the Lord’s grace.

Lara’s amazing book is about growth, renewal, seasons of wait, growth, and loss, getting our hands dirty, digging into the soil of our lives, nurturing the seeds, pruning our life gardens, cultivating and being a cultivator, embracing tension, and God’s amazing grace. It filled my spirit with hope and a new perspective on viewing my own life struggles. Lara is an excellent author and I cannot wait to read her first book, “Make it Happen”.

“Cultivate” is a book you can keep rereading and never tire of. Each time I have reread sections I gain more wisdom and insight. The self-reflection sections are wonderful to do over again in different seasons of our lives because they are always evolving. This is a book you will not be able to put down because it speaks to all those weary places in your soul. I felt so blessed by Lara Casey’s writing and faith-filled inspiration. Her raw honesty and life stories are spoken in authenticity and faith.

Lara’s book also includes a Gardening 101 section which is filled with a wealth of information. and a Cultivate Together guide, which is great for group studies.

Some of my favorite quotes in “Cultivate”:

• “No matter what mistakes you’ve made or will make, you don’t have to rely on your own strength to grow this life. You don’t have to be perfect or have it all together. God has it, and His abundant grace is yours for the taking.”

• “Your past mistakes, your heartache, your circumstances, and the tension you feel right now in your season—every bit of it is part of your growing ground.”
• “To grow what matters in your life, just as you grow flowers in a garden, get your hands dirty, digging in right where you are. Growing what matters takes doing something that is counterintuitive to how we usually operate: embracing tension.”

I loved “Cultivate” by Lara Casey and will be rereading it again and again. Lara’s words reached down and touched my soul. I discovered so much about myself and my life by applying the self-reflection questions. The soul-searching dug up things that needed to be dug up, renewed, and harvested. You will love this book and Lara Casey’s honest, faith-filled words. “Cultivate” is an amazing book!!
