I just have to share what God has shown me in the last few days…and what happened to me yesterday….I read the book “The Listener” (which is mentioned in the author section)and God really spoke to my Spirit.
The book is about a man who God allows to hear other peoples “soul” and what they are saying to God per se…..and the goal is for this man to tell others about Jesus…which he is reluctant to do in the beginning….and I will not say more about the book for you really need to RUN, not walk, to your library and get it TODAY! It had that much an effect on me!
So yesterday is when all the following happened…I went to do laundry and when I got there it was busy…and I had forgot my change…I went home and said I will just do it tomorrow….but instead I went back…one lady was there and I heard her say on the phone she needed 3 quarters to finish drying her clothes…God told me to give it to her…I didn’t till He told me 2 more times to do so….I was leary about the testifying part but was obedient…she was dumbfounded that I gave her the quarters….and thanked me profusely…we talked and come to find out she is a christian…not just a church goer…but a real saved, sanctified, born again Christian….
She was dealing with some personal issues and I encouraged her thru talk and some scripture…..she then had minutes to be out of there so I helped her finish folding her clothes……I gave her the name and author of the book above mentioned…along with my name and phone number….we hugged and Jesus had me pray with her and she hardly would let me go afterwards…….I was bearing fruit for one of the few times in my walk of 15 plus years…all because of the book and the Holy Spirit prodding me….
But then I took a neighbor on an errand and he had confessed some time ago that he had gotten saved at 15 but left it behind many years ago….I invited him to church on Easter and he said he was going with his sister…I asked what church and he said he didn’t know but that it didn’t matter anyhow cause he could worship God in any denomination…I corrected him and said just because I go to McDonald’s it doesn’t make me a hamburger! I said that not all churches believe and practice the same thing and went over more of that with him…..when we got home I dropped it but even though I feel I didn’t make a difference…God knows another seed was planted…and watered…and He alone will give the increase…..
So I have not told anyone “new” about Jesus…no one got saved….but God showed me how easy it can be done….and gave me fruit anyhow and practice……because I spoke to another man while walking my dog…long story short…he is saved but churchless right now….he has no car…….I gave him my name and number to call and I will take him to church with me…I said please don’t let this be our only conversation and he stated it would not be…I look forward to hearing from him and adding another christian to our congregation!
How do I feel now? Like my face is lit up and would glow in the dark…last night I am sure it did….I wanted to tell everyone what had happened to me that day…that Jesus is real and that He loves you and died for you….I have never just talked about the Lord to anyone just out of the blue like I did then…..so I know it was because of the book and the Holy Spirit that dwells in me….please if you do nothing else…get the book and read it…let the Spirit do in you what He did in me….and happy testifying!!!
